Employers and employees experienced a lot during the pandemic, and the companies who truly used this time as a learning experience will come out ahead. Namely in regard to allowing more flexible working conditions, for example working from home if at all possible. 

Other factors that impact a freight company's ability to improve employee retention are: Career Growth, Flexibility and PTO, Community Impact, Bonus Incentives, and Base Pay.
